Mark your calendars — we’re only a week away from the second annual Swiftsure Derby! Last year, we had such a great time getting the horses ready for race day. We can’t wait to do it again this year too! Although most elements are still virtual, we have plans to celebrate the Derby, in person, in 2022.
What To Expect From The 2021 Derby
This year, we have four (4) of our school groups helping us out: Syringa, Wood River High School, and Bellevue Elementary School, and Hailey Elementary. These kids will be focused on conditioning their horses, grooming, race day preparations, and so much more. We can’t wait to share all of the details with you soon! Be sure you’re following us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter to keep up with progress, race standings, training tips, and of course, the big day!
Unlike 2020 — where we took the race to the cowboy ball — this year’s race will last two weeks. So, on April 15th, be ready to get your horse off to an early lead! May 1st, we’ll close out race day with the final push, winner announcements, and the grand prize drawings. Due to current circumstances, we will livestream the events on May 1st on Instagram and Facebook. More to come on how to access.
How The Race Works
Just like last year, 18 horses are racing for the crown. You can find each of the horse’s profiles by visiting swiftsureranch.org/events; you’ll also be able to find their race day odds here too!
Once you determine who you’d like to see win the race, you visit [insert url] and make your donation. Make sure you keep watching your horse’s lineup and help them keep their lead.
Finally, on race day, you tune in! It’s going to be entertaining and so fun. We can’t wait to see you (albeit, virtually!).
We’d like to extend a big thank you to our title sponsor, Idaho Lumber, for helping us make this event happen. They’re vital to this operation. These guys are loyal to our program and truly understand the value of Swiftsure Ranch! Also, a special thanks to those who continue to support us year after year, week after week, and day after day!
