Open Letter

Dear Friends and Family of Swiftsure,

Thank you for your amazing compassion in 2020! Your generosity and support for our mission make our many stories of success and accomplishments possible. Despite the current conditions surrounding COVID-19, we’ve still managed to serve 277 participants, amassing over 3,200 volunteer hours from a very limited number of volunteers!

This year has seen a rise in the need for our services, almost beyond our capacity to serve. Every gift we receive will help change lives.  One shining example is Owen, whose mother tells us, “Small miracles take place for him each time he visits Swiftsure.”  Given a grim prognosis at birth, Owen now walks, runs, and keeps up with his peers.  “Absolutely no other therapy could have provided him this opportunity,” his mother says.

As the year closes, we are humbled and delighted to have a very special donor who has given us a matching grant of $20,000.  This means every gift we receive, up to $20,000, is matched dollar for dollar.
In 2021, we are aspiring to serve more participants and start some exciting new programs and events. In February, snow and safety permitting, our first fun event of the year will be a snowshoe adventure, followed by the Swiftsure Derby in May, and then in July, we will celebrate our 30th Annual Cowboy Ball! One of our goals for 2021 is to introduce a therapeutic carriage driving program and an all-abilities summer cow camp! Stay tuned for details.

We are, once again, deeply grateful to all of you! With your support, the foundation is laid for Swiftsure to spread strength, freedom, and connection. Thank you for helping us continue along the path of caring!

Sincerely,

Paul Bennett
