We are thrilled to introduce Travis, our exceptional Ranch Manager, who has joined the Swiftsure Team. Travis’s journey with us began as a client, participating in our partnership with the Boise Department of Veteran Affairs. Witnessing the profound impact our dedicated staff and therapy horses had on him, we couldn’t be happier to welcome him as an integral part of our team.

Growing up on a small ranch in Paul, Idaho, Travis developed a deep passion for horses and horsemanship. His upbringing involved custom haying and raising magnificent Thoroughbred and Percheron Draft horses alongside his mother. Travis’s equestrian journey commenced at a tender age, and he further honed his skills through active involvement in FFA and competing in Bronc Riding during his high school years.

Following high school, Travis embarked on a remarkable 23-year career as an M1 Abrams Tank Crewman in the United States Army. This tenure encompassed numerous combat deployments to Iraq, as well as training deployments worldwide. In August of 2022, Travis retired from the US Army, eagerly embracing the opportunity to assist the many veterans who visit Swiftsure. His profound desire is to help them conquer their fears and forge meaningful connections with our extraordinary horses.
