A BIG Thanks!
30th Annual Cowboy Ball in The Books
The final numbers are in, and we could not be more excited to report that we raised over $420,000 for the Ranch during the 30th Annual Cowboy Ball.
Our community came together during this year’s ball, raised money, and celebrated our program on a smaller—but mightier—scale.
Due to COVID-19 and general concerns about everyone’s health, the Cowboy Ball was limited to 225 attendees. However, the virtual component allowed anyone to tune in no matter where they were located. If you missed the event altogether this year, watch the complete recap of the event here.
As we noted in the second half of 2020, the demand for our services has been greater than ever. Many of our participants find grounding while at the Ranch. And, while the pandemic has been grueling for all, it’s especially tough on our participants. The lack of routine is draining mentally, physically, and emotionally. Being at the Ranch restores their sense of normalcy, and thanks to funds raised from the Cowboy Ball, we can continue to make these life-changing impacts.
During the 2021 Cowboy Ball, we celebrated these victories while we all took a moment to watch a bit of the Swiftsure story; you can do so here if you wish.
Next, we heard from a good friend and participant, Chris Deck, about her experiences at the Ranch and what keeps her going, day in and day out. We also heard from a board member, long-time participant, and now a dear friend, Teresa Hukari, and what Swiftsure means to her vitality.
Finally, we took a minute to paddle up for the cause and enjoyed a classic cowboy auctioneer raising the excitement and financial support in the arena.
We closed out the night with some good ol’ fashioned line dancing!
Extra Special Thanks
We’d like to give a special thanks to Caroline Woodham and Dark to Light Productions for producing another incredible impact story. This team went above and beyond this year to capture the story of the Ranch. We’d also like to thank Jennifer Franklin at 208 Images & Media for capturing the night. View the gallery here.
We would like to take a moment and thank all of our staff who work hard day in and day out and are the ones that make it all possible. We’d also like to thank our board who support us through thick and thin, and last but not least, we’d like to thank our volunteers. Without our volunteers, Swiftsure would be just a quarter of what it is today.
