Swiftsure Ranch TEC – Champion Hunter/Jumper, Show Horse and Equine Therapist, BLAZE, passed away yesterday after suffering a heart attack. This bay quarter/cross gentle giant lived 19 terrific years of life and stole our hearts with his kind demeanor and patience with riders. Instructor Erin Downey was with Blaze until the end. She said, “An owl observing from above in a nearby tree swooped down and flew right above Blaze as he took his last breath.” Blaze joined the Swiftsure Ranch TEC family 8/17/2010 and inspired many of our riders to fly without wings.
